Context

PIF Co-Builder is an incubator for startups backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, preparing to launch its second space, PIF Co-Builder 2.

The challenge

Optimise the physical and digital experience for residents, visitors and staff ahead of the Co-Builder 2 launch, while building a monetisation model to generate revenue from its facilities, products and services.

What I did

I led the service design track across 16 weeks:

  • Benchmarked incubators, accelerators, venture builders and innovation centres
  • Updated the user segmentation and personas through interviews and 5 workshops
  • Developed 15 service blueprints, including Co-Builder 1 today, and future-state journey maps for Co-Builder 1 and 2
  • Identified 64 innovative ideas and shaped them into a backlog and high-level use cases
  • Designed wireframes and 14 high-fidelity clickable prototypes for Co-Builder 2, tested with users
  • Assessed the multi-vendor technical landscape and recommended an ideal-state architecture for Co-Builder 2
  • Set up a Design Authority, with an operating model and decision gates, and a design language system managed in zeroheight

The result

A better experience for residents, visitors and staff, with clear opportunities to generate revenue identified and built into the Co-Builder 2 plans.
