Context

The wholesale banking group of a Tier 1 regional bank serves large enterprise clients through its payments and treasury platform. Corporate banking is never used by one person: a CFO sets direction, a finance manager runs approvals and an analyst does the daily work.

The challenge

Redesign the experience around how finance teams actually work: their roles, approval chains and business needs, and the link between the platform and the wider banking service.

What I did

I worked with the CX team to shape the strategy, then led the experience design:

• Stakeholder discovery and a client research questionnaire
• Three corporate personas and a nine-stage CFO journey map
• Six CX principles and a five-pillar North Star: Unified, Global by Design, Effortless, Intelligent, Personalised
• An AI Evolution in Banking framework, from assistance to automation
• Role-based dashboards with first-time onboarding that suggests a layout by role or intent
• Accounts views for multi-entity, multi-country and multi-currency clients, with tables people can group, pin and filter
• One Action & Approval Center for single or bulk approval, rejection with a reason, and send-back for repair
• AI next best actions, such as hedging opportunities and idle cash

The result

A shared North Star for the bank and a platform design built around real corporate roles, from the CFO's overview to the approver's queue.
